Data Engineer role in a client's Data & AI team, serving a large semi-government entity in Dubai.
The role reports to the Associate Director of Data Engineering.
The role starts with a renewable 12-month contract.
Key responsibilities
- Design, build, and support enterprise ETL/ELT data pipelines.
- Develop and maintain dimensional and canonical data models and data products.
- Implement MDM practices, golden records, data standardization, and data quality management.
- Build scalable data solutions with SQL, Python, and Apache Spark for large-scale processing.
- Establish data quality controls, validation frameworks, and performance optimization practices.
- Translate business requirements into scalable solutions in collaboration with business and technical teams.
- Support data governance, metadata management, and enterprise data foundations.
- Explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Knowledge, skills, and experience
- At least five years of data engineering experience, including enterprise ETL/ELT pipeline design, development, and support.
- Strong understanding of dimensional modeling, canonical data models, and data product design.
- Hands-on MDM experience, including golden records, data standardization, and data quality management.
- Strong SQL skills and practical experience with Python and Apache Spark.
- Understanding of scalable, maintainable data engineering, validation, data quality, and performance optimization.
- Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions and working across business and technology teams.
- Experience with modern data platforms and cloud-based data ecosystems.
- Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, and enterprise data foundations.
- Palantir Foundry experience is highly desirable.

- Preference is given to candidates available immediately or within 30 days.
- Candidates must be able to work in the United Arab Emirates.
