Overview

A prestigious Abu Dhabi-based investment entity is seeking an experienced and highly analytical Senior Accountant to support the CFO in overseeing financial operations, group reporting, consolidation, taxation, and transaction-related activities.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting expertise, experience within investment holdings, private offices, family offices, private equity, or diversified groups, and exposure to mergers and acquisitions (M&A).

This role requires a hands-on professional capable of ensuring financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, timely reporting, and supporting strategic initiatives across multiple entities and investments.

Key Responsibilitiesfinancial Reporting & Accounting

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end closing process.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of general ledger transactions and reconciliations.
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and treasury-related accounting activities.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies across all entities.

Consolidation & Group Reporting

  • Prepare consolidated financial statements for multiple subsidiaries and investment entities.
  • Manage intercompany reconciliations and elimination entries.
  • Support the preparation of board reports, management reports, and financial analysis packages.
  • Monitor financial performance and provide variance analysis against budgets and forecasts.

Tax & Regulatory Compliance

  • Manage UAE Corporate Tax and VAT compliance, filings, and reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate with external tax advisors, auditors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting, taxation, and statutory regulations.
  • Monitor changes in tax laws and accounting standards and assess their impact on the group.

Mergers & Acquisitions

  • Support financial due diligence activities for acquisitions, disposals, and strategic investments.
  • Participate in financial modelling, transaction assessments, and post-acquisition integration activities.
  • Review target company financial statements and identify key accounting and financial risks.
  • Assist in purchase price allocation and acquisition accounting processes.

Audit & Stakeholder Management

  • Coordinate internal and external audit activities.
  • Liaise with banks, advisors, auditors, tax consultants, and other stakeholders.
  • Support the CFO in strategic financial initiatives and special projects.

Qualifications & Experienceeducation

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Master's Degree is an advantage.

Professional Certifications (Mandatory)

Must hold at least one internationally recognized accounting or finance qualification:

Preferred

  • CFA (particularly beneficial for investment-related environments).

Experience

  • Minimum 8–12 years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
  • Experience within investment companies, holding groups, family offices, private equity firms, asset management firms, or diversified conglomerates.
  • Demonstrated experience in:
  • Financial reporting under IFRS.
  • Group consolidations and multi-entity structures.
  • UAE Corporate Tax and VAT.
  • Mergers & acquisitions support and financial due diligence.
  • External audits and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience working directly with senior management and executive leadership.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards.
  • Advanced financial analysis and reporting capabilities.
  • Excellent understanding of consolidation principles and investment accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of UAE Corporate Tax and VAT regulations.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, confidential, and high-performance investment environment.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Must currently reside in the UAE or be willing to relocate to Abu Dhabi.
  • Abu Dhabi-based role with on-site presence required.
  • Proven experience within complex multi-entity or investment-driven organizations.
  • Professional accounting certification is mandatory.
