Role overview

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join its team at NEOM and provide contractual leadership across a major programme.

The role leads civil engineering projects from detailed design through completion and oversees infrastructure planning and execution.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage project execution against the approved baseline schedule.
  • Track procurement activities for civil and structural materials and manage long-lead items.
  • Prepare progress reports covering project status, delays, risks, and mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary activities and lead contractor meetings to resolve progress issues and obstacles.
  • Monitor project risks and develop mitigation plans.
  • Oversee project closeout and handover and ensure deliverables are complete and documented.
  • Review designs, calculations, shop drawings, material submissions, and method statements for compliance.
  • Conduct site inspections and manage defects and non-conformances to support quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Mentor engineering teams, coordinate stakeholders, resolve technical queries, and support collaboration.

Qualifications and experience

  • At least 10 years of experience in civil engineering and construction projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, engineering standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in baseline schedule development, program analysis, progress monitoring, and performance tracking.
  • Experience with 3D modeling and design software such as Autodesk Plant 3D and Aveva E3D.
  • Skills in scope management, change control, vendor management, technical bid evaluation, cost and risk management, communication, and mentoring.

Technical skills

  • Digital engineering tools include Autodesk Plant 3D and Aveva E3D.
  • Project controls include schedule development, program analysis, progress monitoring, and performance tracking.

Workplace

  • The role includes site inspections and construction project oversight.
