Senior Backend Engineer - MT5

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services supporting MT5 trading operations and broker infrastructure.
• Build and maintain integrations with MT5 Manager API, Gateway API, and internal trading systems.
• Develop solutions supporting the complete trade lifecycle, including order creation, execution, modification, settlement, reporting, and reconciliation.
• Implement business logic related to account management, margin calculations, exposure monitoring, and risk controls.
• Develop and maintain integrations between MT5 and internal systems, including CRM, back-office, payment, compliance, and reporting platforms.
• Support connectivity with liquidity providers, bridge solutions, market data feeds, and execution venues.
• Optimize backend services for performance, reliability, and scalability in high-volume trading environments.
• Investigate and resolve production issues impacting trade processing, execution workflows, and client accounts.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Dealers, Risk Teams, and Operations teams to deliver new trading functionality and platform enhancements.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment activities while maintaining high engineering standards.
• Produce technical documentation for trading workflows, integrations, APIs, and backend services.

Metatrader Expertise

• Strong knowledge of MT5 Manager API, trade operations, account management, and broker workflows.
• Experience developing integrations and extensions around MT5 trading infrastructure.

Programming Languages

• Strong proficiency in C#, C++, Java, or similar backend technologies.
• Experience with Python is advantageous.

Backend Development

• Experience building scalable backend services, APIs, and event-driven systems.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and transactional processing.

Databases

• Strong SQL skills with experience in MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or similar database technologies.
• Experience designing and optimizing high-volume transactional systems.

Trading Systems

• Understanding of order management systems (OMS), execution workflows, trade routing, and post-trade processing.
• Experience integrating liquidity providers, market data providers, and bridge technologies is highly desirable.
• Experience working with brokerage infrastructure platforms such as oneZero, PrimeXM, or similar liquidity aggregation and execution management solutions is highly desirable.

Api & Integration Development

• Experience developing RESTful APIs and integrating with internal and external financial systems.
• Familiarity with FIX protocol and financial messaging standards is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of backend engineering experience, preferably within brokerage, fintech, forex, CFD, or trading environments.
• Strong understanding of broker operations and the end-to-end trade lifecycle.
• Experience working with production trading systems supporting live client activity.
• Familiarity with liquidity management, execution workflows, margin management, and risk controls.
• Experience troubleshooting production issues within low-latency or high-availability trading environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work cross-functionally with trading, operations, and product teams.
