Senior Azure Data Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Collaborate across product, business, architecture, and engineering teams to deliver scalable data solutions.
• Design, build, test, and maintain enterprise data solutions, ingestion and integration frameworks, and batch and real-time pipelines using Databricks, Spark, and Kafka.
• Manage Airflow workflows; develop APIs and data services; build cloud-native platforms using Azure or AWS.
• Support CI/CD, DevOps automation, monitoring, logging, alerting, incident resolution, and production operations.
• Contribute to architecture decisions and Agile delivery; maintain data quality, reliability, security, governance, and compliance.

Requirements and expertise

• 6–10 years in data engineering and cloud data platform development; strong hands-on experience with Azure or AWS.
• Extensive Azure Databricks experience; strong Kafka expertise; hands-on Spark and distributed data processing experience.
• Experience designing and supporting large-scale ETL/ELT pipelines, relational and non-relational databases, and modern storage platforms.
• Knowledge of data engineering best practices, reliability engineering, and fault-tolerant architecture.
• Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, configuration management, deployment automation, and Apache Airflow.
• Working knowledge of RESTful APIs and integration patterns; experience supporting Snowflake analytical platforms.
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, performance tuning, root cause analysis, communication, and stakeholder management skills; Agile team experience.
