Role overview

Lead current-account sales and relationship growth across a business cluster for DBS Consumer Banking Group.

The role owns acquisition, activation, operating balances, transactions, fee income, cross-sell, team productivity, service quality, and compliance.

Sales strategy and execution

  • Deliver new-to-bank acquisition, activation, average quarterly balance, transaction-throughput, and fee-income targets.
  • Build catchment-led acquisition strategies for business segments including wholesalers, manufacturers, traders, schools, clinics, and professional firms.
  • Translate cluster targets into branch-, team-, and individual-level productivity plans; own the business plan, sales funnel, conversion pipeline, and weekly reviews.
  • Prioritize transaction-active, balance-building, and cross-sell-ready relationships over dormant or low-value accounts.
  • Maintain a sales cadence of joint calls, market visits, lead reviews, branch huddles, pipeline reviews, and conversion tracking.
  • Use profile-based sales approaches and develop market intelligence on competitors, local business clusters, referral sources, and commercial hubs.

Portfolio, products, and client relationships

  • Activate new accounts and drive operating balances, inward credits, collections, payment activity, and digital-banking adoption.
  • Migrate primary client transaction flows such as collections, vendor payments, payroll, taxes, and operating cash to the bank.
  • Promote corporate internet banking, mobile approvals, cash management, bulk payments, POS, QR, Soundbox, sweep structures, debit cards, and transaction-banking solutions.
  • Partner with product teams to match business pain points with integrated banking propositions.
  • Build senior relationships with anchor clients and join strategic calls for high-value prospects.
  • Resolve onboarding, account-opening, transaction, service, and digital-banking issues; work with branches and operations to improve turnaround and client experience.
  • Review top customers and at-risk accounts, protect balances and wallet share, and drive retention through proactive engagement and relevant product deepening.

Team leadership and compliance

  • Recruit, develop, retain, and performance-manage a high-quality current-account sales team.
  • Set scorecards for acquisition, activation, balances, transactions, fee income, cross-sell, productivity, service, and compliance.
  • Coach through joint market visits, call observations, weekly reviews, and capability-building sessions.
  • Ensure sourcing, onboarding, and activation follow internal policies and applicable KYC, AML, fraud-risk, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain customer due diligence, documentation, source-of-funds understanding, and business-profile validation; monitor and escalate exceptions and risks.

Requirements

  • 8–15 years of relevant banking experience; current accounts, CASA, business banking, SME banking, transaction banking, branch banking, or merchant acquiring experience is preferred.
  • At least 3–5 years leading sales managers, relationship managers, or acquisition teams.
  • Track record building current-account portfolios, increasing operating balances, and delivering cross-sell revenue.
  • Cluster, catchment, branch-ecosystem, or multi-location sales experience is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of current-account economics, transaction banking, payments, merchant acquiring, and business-client needs.
  • Ability to lead field sales, build market networks, and execute through branches and partner channels.
  • Strong solution selling, sales analytics, stakeholder management, integrity, communication, negotiation, and coaching skills.
  • Graduate degree required; MBA/PGDM in Finance, Sales, Marketing, or Banking preferred. Relevant banking, KYC/AML, payments, or financial-product certifications are advantageous.

Location

  • The listing identifies the location as Gurgaon-DBIL. The responsibilities include field sales and market visits.

Employment details

  • The source describes the schedule as regular and employee status as full time.
