Senior Accountant - General Ledger (GL)

Role Summary
The Senior Accountant - GL is responsible for managing general ledger accounting, month-end close processes, financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance activities. The role ensures accuracy of financial statements, supports audits, and drives strong financial control across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage General Ledger and Month-End Close - prepare and maintain reports.
- Prepare Monthly Financial Reports (MFR).
- Prepare and review various reconciliations including Bank, GR/IR, etc.
- Payroll and Employee Cost Accounting.
- Revenue Accounting, Allocation and Recharge Activities.
- VAT Compliance.
- Receivables and Collections - record and reconcile customer receipts.
- Close external audits; handle audit queries and ensure timely closure.
- Prepare and review Group Reporting (HFM packs).
- Assist in budget preparation and updates.
- Prepare and validate sales commission calculations.
- Support ICV certification and related audit requirements.
- Participate in ISO audits and coordinate with auditors / consultants.
- Support management with ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and General Ledger accounting principles.
- Experience with month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and audit support.
- Hands-on experience with VAT compliance in the UAE.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
- Proficiency in MS Excel and reporting tools (HFM or similar preferred).
- Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management.
