Senior Accountant

Position

Accounting responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, bookkeeping, and project/job costing against budget.
• Process progress billing, interim payment applications, retention, variation orders, WIP, revenue recognition, accruals, and subcontractor payables.
• Reconcile supplier and subcontractor invoices against purchase orders and delivery notes; track retentions, advances, performance bonds, and bank guarantees.
• Complete periodic financial closes and prepare financial statements, profitability reports, and management reports.
• Reconcile bank, supplier, customer, and ledger accounts; monitor receivables and collections.
• Process journal entries, accruals, prepayments, inventory, fixed assets, and payroll accounting.
• Ensure UAE VAT, corporate tax, and other statutory compliance; coordinate audits and maintain records.
• Coordinate finance matters with banks, suppliers, subcontractors, clients, and government authorities.

Qualifications and experience

• Mandatory: 3–4 years of UAE accounting experience in the interior joinery and fit-out industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
• Hands-on project/job costing, progress billing, retention, and WIP accounting experience in contracting or fit-out.
• Strong accounting principles, financial reporting, UAE VAT and corporate tax knowledge, and month-end/year-end closing experience.
• Proficient in Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial analysis.
• ERP/accounting software experience is requested; examples include SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Tally, Zoho Books, and Odoo.
• CA, ACCA, CMA, CPA, or equivalent is an added advantage; additional languages are advantageous.
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, communication, time-management, and detail-oriented skills; able to meet deadlines.
• Immediate joiners are preferred.
