Role summary
The specialist monitors, detects, analyzes, and responds to cybersecurity incidents to protect digital assets and information systems.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor security events, reports, alerts, and CSOC dashboards for anomalous activity.
- Manage security incidents and CSOC activities, including root cause analysis, threat intelligence, and reporting.
- Create and tune CSOC use cases and alerts; check systems, monitored hosts, and security log collection.
- Support and update CSOC playbooks and administer security controls, including SIEM, antivirus, network security devices, PAM, DLP, and vulnerability management.
- Prepare security awareness communications and participate in cyber drills and CSOC exercises.
- Escalate critical items, coordinate remediation, conduct exception reviews and risk assessments, support audits, and maintain incident documentation.
- Research security queries and recommend controls to address risk.
Required qualifications and experience
- B.Sc. degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience in security operations or equivalent information technology work.
