About the role
Lead quality engineering across multiple platforms in a hands-on leadership role focused on scalable automation, performance engineering, observability, and AI-assisted testing.
Build and lead an SDET team, establish architecture-aligned testing strategies, and partner with development, architecture, DevOps, and product teams to improve software quality, reliability, and release confidence.
Key responsibilities
- Define risk-based test strategies aligned with system architecture and product requirements.
- Build scalable Playwright automation frameworks with TypeScript/JavaScript and Node.js; drive UI, API, integration, contract, and end-to-end testing.
- Design k6 or JMeter performance tests, model workloads, analyze bottlenecks, and optimize performance.
- Integrate automated testing and quality gates into CI/CD pipelines; investigate issues using observability tools, metrics, logs, and distributed traces.
- Develop AI-assisted and agentic workflows for test generation, exploratory testing, failure analysis, and test maintenance.
- Lead and mentor SDET engineers, establish coding standards and quality metrics, and collaborate to improve resilience, scalability, and release readiness.
- Ensure test data, credentials, and testing environments comply with applicable security and data protection requirements.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software testing and quality engineering experience; 3+ years leading SDET or test automation teams.
- Expert-level JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js skills; deep hands-on Playwright experience with framework development and CI scaling.
- At least 2 years of hands-on performance engineering with k6 or JMeter, including scripting, workload modelling, analysis, and optimization.
- Strong knowledge of API testing, Jest/Vitest, contract testing, microservices, REST/GraphQL, and distributed architectures.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, cloud infrastructure, and Kubernetes; hands-on observability platform experience.
- Practical experience applying LLMs or AI agents to software testing; strong analytical, communication, and technical leadership skills.
Nice to have
- Chaos engineering, resilience testing, Gatling, Locust, or Lighthouse experience.
- Infrastructure as code such as Terraform or Bicep; security testing knowledge including OWASP Top 10.
- Experience in real estate technology, fintech, or other regulated industries; ISTQB or cloud certifications.
