Responsibilities
- Prepare scaffold drawings, layouts, models, and structural calculations for varied scaffold systems, including suspended, cantilever, birdcage, and heavy-duty scaffolds.
- Ensure designs meet project, UAE regulatory, international-standard, and safety requirements; optimize safety, stability, access, and material use.
- Review construction drawings and third-party designs; identify scaffold needs and provide practical solutions.
- Coordinate with project, engineering, construction, HSE, consultants, clients, and authorities on technical issues, execution, and approvals.
- Support site teams during erection, modification, and dismantling; visit sites to check compliance with approved designs.
- Prepare method statements, risk assessments, calculations, and approval documents; maintain design and approval records.
Required qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- At least five years of scaffolding design experience; UAE construction-project experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of scaffolding systems, structural calculations, and load assessments.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; familiarity with 3D modelling or design software.
- Knowledge of scaffolding standards including BS, EN, OSHA, and UAE safety regulations.
Workplace
- The role includes periodic site visits to verify scaffold erection against approved designs.
