About This Role
Overview
We are seeking a high-performing
Technical Sales Specialist
with deep expertise in electrical and automation systems within the Oil & Gas sector.
In this role, you won't just be selling products; you will be delivering critical, high-engineered solutions.
You will leverage your technical knowledge of explosion-proof equipment, PLC automation, and switchgear to build trust with engineers, procurement teams, and decision-makers across the industry.
If you speak the language of hazardous areas, understand automation logic, and have a proven track record of driving revenue growth, we want you on our team.
Key Responsibilities
- **Drive Business Growth:**
- Identify, qualify, and capture new business opportunities within upstream, midstream, and downstream Oil & Gas sectors.
- **Technical Consultation:**
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to clients, understanding their specific project requirements and proposing tailored solutions for switchgear, PLCs, and explosion-proof systems.
- **Deal Execution:**
- Manage the entire sales lifecycle—from initial lead generation and technical presentations to bidding, negotiation, and closing the deal.
- **Relationship Management:**
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with EPC contractors, end-users (operators), and system integrators.
- **Collaboration:**
- Work closely with our internal engineering and proposals teams to ensure accurate technical bidding and seamless project handovers.
- **Market Intelligence:**
- Stay ahead of industry trends, competitor movements, and upcoming regional oil & gas projects.
Technical Expertise
- **Industry Experience:**
- Minimum of 3–5 years of proven sales or business development experience specifically within the
Oil & Gas sector
- .
- **Hazardous Area Knowledge:**
- Strong familiarity with
- explosion-proof (Ex)
- standards, classifications (ATEX, IECEx, NEC), and enclosures.
- **Automation & Control:**
- Solid understanding of
- PLC Automation systems
- , SCADA, and industrial control panels.
- **Power Distribution:**
- Practical knowledge of low-voltage (LV) and medium-voltage (MV)
- switchgear
- , motor control centers (MCCs), and electrical distribution.
Sales & Soft Skills
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a B2B technical environment.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills—ability to pitch to both field engineers and C-level executives.
- Strong network of existing contacts within Oil & Gas operators and EPCs is highly preferred.
- Self-motivated, resilient, and willing to travel frequently for client meetings and site visits.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a highly related technical field (preferred). Equivalent hands-on technical experience with a strong sales background will also be considered.
