Job Description: Sales Manager

Position Summary

The Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales performance, developing strategic sales plans, managing key customer relationships, and leading a team of [number] sales representatives. This role requires a hands-on leader who can both strategize and execute, from forecasting to closing complex deals.

Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership & Development

  • Recruit, onboard, train, and mentor a high-performing sales team.
  • Conduct weekly one-on-one coaching sessions, performance reviews, and team meetings.
  • Set individual and team quotas, monitor KPIs, and drive accountability.
  • Foster a competitive, collaborative, and positive sales culture.

Sales Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company revenue goals.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to identify new opportunities.
  • Manage sales forecasting, pipeline health, and CRM data accuracy (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
  • Collaborate with marketing on lead generation, campaigns, and conversion optimization.

Client & Revenue Management

  • Own and grow key strategic accounts, including high-level negotiations and contract renewals.
  • Step in to close complex or high-value deals alongside the team.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and resolve escalated issues promptly.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Provide weekly/ monthly sales reports to senior leadership (revenue, conversion rates, churn, activity metrics).
  • Use data to identify process improvements and upsell/cross-sell opportunities.

QualificationsRequired

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of B2B/B2C sales experience, with 2+ years in a sales management or team lead role.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding team quotas ($[X]M+ annually).
  • Strong proficiency with CRM software and Microsoft Office / Google Workspace.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel [e.g., 20%] for client meetings or team events.
