CDP/Salad Chef-Full-time, on-site role based in Ras Laffan, responsible for preparing, assembling, and presenting a variety of salads, cold dishes, and healthy menu items according to company standards and menu specifications.
The role includes washing, cutting, and preparing vegetables and fruits, preparing dressings and marinades, and ensuring proper portioning and plating for service.
The Salad Chef will maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in the cold kitchen area, including correct storage, labelling, and rotation of ingredients.
The position also involves collaborating with the kitchen team to plan menus, support buffet and large-scale catering events, and adjust recipes based on feedback and dietary requirements.
The Salad Chef will follow all HSE and quality procedures, use kitchen equipment safely, and assist with inventory checks and ordering as required.
Qualifications
- Strong cold kitchen skills, including salad preparation, fruit and vegetable cutting, and basic sauce and dressing preparation.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene practices, proper storage, and HACCP or similar standards.
- Experience working in high-volume catering, hotel, or institutional kitchens, ideally within industrial or remote site operations.
- Ability to follow standardized recipes, portion controls, and presentation guidelines while maintaining quality and consistency.
- Good time management, organization, and multitasking skills to meet service deadlines and large catering demands.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team, as well as independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills; ability to read menus, recipes, and production plans in English.
- Formal culinary training or a certificate in culinary arts or food production is preferred.
- Previous experience in the Gulf region or Oil & Gas sector catering is an advantage.
