Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and monitor **Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)** policies and procedures at site in accordance with company standards, client requirements, and local authority regulations.
  • Conduct daily site safety inspections.
  • Identify potential hazards, assess risks, and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
  • Ensure all personnel comply with **HSE rules, safe work practices, and PPE requirements**.
  • Conduct **toolbox talks, safety inductions, and training sessions** for site personnel.
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with approved **Method Statements and Risk Assessments (MSRA)**.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; prepare incident reports and recommend preventive measures.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors on safety matters.
  • Maintain HSE records, permits, registers, and safety documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with **UAE safety regulations and authority requirements** (RTA / ADM / Dubai Municipality where applicable).
  • Support audits, inspections, and client safety meetings.
  • Promote a strong **safety culture** across the project.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree Engineering.
  • Minimum 6 **years of experience** as a **Safety Officer** in **construction / infrastructure projects**.
  • **Mandatory experience** in **roads, bridges, utilities, and infrastructure works** (building-only experience preferred only if combined with infra exposure).
  • Certified in **NEBOSH IGC** or equivalent HSE certification.
  • Knowledge of UAE HSE laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of hazard identification, risk assessment, and accident prevention.
  • Good communication, reporting, and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work independently on site and manage multiple work fronts.
