Role Description
Job Title: Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer - Infrastructure
We are seeking a motivated Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer to join our infrastructure team in the UAE.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the conceptual and detailed design of electrical systems for large-scale land development, transportation, and public utility projects.
You will work under minimal supervision to produce high-quality drawings, specifications, and calculations, ensuring compliance with local UAE regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design Development: Prepare detailed electrical designs for Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) networks, including 11kV/33kV distribution substations and cable routing.
- Infrastructure Design: Design infrastructure elements including street lighting, and Telecom.
- Calculations & Technical Reports: Perform cable sizing, earthing layout calculations, lighting simulations, and load flow analysis using software like ETAP/Sincal.
- Authority Approvals: Ensure all designs comply with UAE local authority regulations and manage the approval process.
- Coordination: Coordinate with other disciplines (wet utilities, roads, landscape) and check shop drawings/material submittals.
- Site Support: Provide technical support during construction, testing, and commissioning, including site visits to verify design inputs.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of experience in electrical design, specifically in infrastructure projects within the UAE.
- Software Proficiency: Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D. Knowledge of ETAP and DIALux is highly desirable.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with IEC standards and TAQA regulations
- Skills: Excellent coordination skills, report writing abilities, and problem-solving skills.
