About This Role
Job Summary
The Rigger is responsible for the safe rigging, lifting, and movement of materials using tower cranes. The role ensures that all lifting activities are conducted in accordance with approved lifting plans, safety standards, and site procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Attach and secure loads to tower crane hooks using appropriate rigging equipment (slings, shackles, hooks, etc.)
- Ensure loads are balanced, stable, and properly secured before lifting
- Act as a banksman/signaler, guiding crane operators using standard hand signals or radio communication
- Inspect all rigging gear before use and report any defects
- Follow approved lifting plans and method statements
- Coordinate with crane operators, supervisors, and site teams during lifting operations
- Maintain clear communication to ensure safe load movement
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies and site safety procedures
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience as a rigger in construction projects (tower crane experience preferred)
- Valid Rigger certification (UAE or internationally recognized)
- Knowledge of lifting techniques, load estimation, and rigging practices
- Familiarity with standard hand signals and communication methods
- Physically fit and able to work in demanding site conditions
