Research duties

  • Contribute to designing and implementing research methods and protocols; design safety procedures and adopt research processes, techniques, or instrumentation.
  • Oversee laboratory work and equipment maintenance for assigned projects and conduct reagent quality control analysis.
  • Collect, prepare, and analyze research data and search relevant scientific literature.
  • Maintain detailed experiment notebooks and computer databases of research data.
  • Gather and share data for research conference presentations and manuscript preparation; use graphics and statistical software to analyze and present data.
  • Supervise laboratory students and personnel and participate in training fellows, research assistants, students, and visiting research personnel.
  • Produce scientific progress reports and contribute to research and grant or funding applications.
  • Assist with ordering and procurement of supplies and equipment and general laboratory maintenance.
  • Contribute to the university’s publication output, including high-impact publications.
  • Perform other research tasks as requested to meet the role and research center’s strategic goals.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. awarded within the last two years, from a reputable institution in the relevant field.
  • One or more years of relevant research-environment experience is preferred.
  • One or more years of relevant research-environment experience after the Ph.D. is preferred.
