The Remote IT Technician provides technical support and maintenance for computer systems, software applications, and network-related technologies from a remote work environment.
The role diagnoses technical issues, resolves user requests, and supports reliable IT operations with timely assistance and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide remote support for hardware, software, operating systems, and business applications.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues using remote access tools and support platforms.
- Install, configure, and maintain software, system updates, and user applications.
- Respond to requests, prioritize incidents, and manage support tickets through completion.
- Assist users with account access, system configuration, and general technology inquiries.
- Monitor system performance and investigate recurring technical issues.
- Escalate complex incidents and communicate clearly with users.
- Document support activities, resolutions, and technical procedures.
- Follow security policies for system access, software updates, and data protection.
- Recommend improvements to support processes and technical documentation.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical experience is accepted.
- IT support, technical support, service desk, or help desk experience is preferred.
- Strong understanding of hardware, operating systems, networking fundamentals, and software applications.
- Familiarity with remote support tools, ticketing systems, and IT service management practices.
- Requires analytical troubleshooting, communication, prioritization, organization, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently, collaborate with technical teams, and continue learning.
