RINA is recruiting a Railway System Interface Manager for its System Engineering team in Abu Dhabi.
The role coordinates railway system interfaces and supports successful integration of systems involved in railway design and construction.
The mission covers safe, reliable, and efficient railway operations across rolling stock, signaling, infrastructure, power, and communications.
Interface management and integration
- Manage system scenarios, requirements, architecture, and interactions among railway subsystems.
- Select technologies and configurations for new rail projects.
- Coordinate interface development, verification, and validation through final interface closure.
- Manage external system interfaces and applicable authorization processes.
- Ensure interoperability among rolling stock, signaling, infrastructure, and other subsystems.
Verification, lifecycle, and digital rail
- Monitor interface verification and validation plans and support integration testing against project requirements, standards, and laws.
- Manage railway upgrades and modernization and support asset management and maintenance planning.
- Implement IoT, AI, and Big Data solutions for predictive maintenance and automation.
- Work with Digital Twin, Remote Monitoring, and Smart Signaling technologies.
Education and experience
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 15 years of railway systems engineering experience, with strong proficiency in interface management.
- Experience focused on sustainability in railway systems and infrastructure design, construction, and operation.
- Experience managing mixed-traffic operations, including high-speed, freight, and commuter trains.
Railway systems and standards
- Relevant systems include rolling stock, signaling, electrification, and track infrastructure.
- Standards and regulations listed include CENELEC EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129; ETCS/ERTMS; IEC 62290; and UIC, AAR, and FRA regulations.
- Listed engineering tools include DOORS, Enterprise Architect, ReliaSoft, FMECA and FTA tools, MATLAB, Simulink, and CATIA.
- Project methods include V-Model, Agile, or Waterfall.
