Performs diagnostic imaging and contributes to patient care under the supervision of radiologists and senior radiographers.
Imaging and patient care
- Perform radiological examinations, contrast studies, CT and MRI studies, portable X-rays, and C-arm examinations in the operating theatre.
- Prepare and educate patients; produce examination reports and provide results on CD.
- Operate imaging and computer equipment, document images, perform quality control, and maintain HIS records and PACS images.
- Complete scheduled and unscheduled work accurately and promptly; perform other related duties as required.
Safety and compliance
- Follow radiography safety, environment-of-care, occupational safety, infection-control, and waste-management policies and procedures.
- Report hazards, incidents, and near misses; assist with risk assessments and incident reports; attend applicable training and drills; use appropriate protective equipment.
- Follow emergency and evacuation procedures and apply the profession’s Code of Ethics.
Qualifications and experience
- Valid DOH license or exam pass result as an X-ray/Radiography Technologist; current country-of-origin license and HAAD license to practice in Abu Dhabi.
- Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Radiography or Imaging Technology and at least three years’ radiographer experience in a hospital or medical-centre facility.
- Fluent spoken and written English; spoken Arabic is advantageous but not essential.
- UAE work experience is preferred.
- Able to apply technical skills and demonstrate knowledge of sciences such as anatomy, physiology, and physics; self-motivated and able to work under pressure.
