Role overview
Jacobs seeks an experienced Quality Engineer (Architectural) for construction supervision of hyperscale data centre and mission-critical infrastructure projects across the Middle East.
The role ensures architectural works meet approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, client requirements, and applicable codes.
Quality assurance and construction
- Implement project quality systems; monitor contractor quality plans, inspection plans, method statements, and specifications; conduct inspections and audits.
- Review material submittals, mock-ups, technical submissions, shop drawings, and samples; address quality issues through corrective and preventive actions.
- Supervise inspections of architectural finishes and building envelope systems, including roofing, waterproofing, insulation, fire-rated assemblies, doors, windows, and façades.
- Verify clean-room and mission-critical spaces, firestopping, and architectural quality across data centre and support buildings.
- Coordinate architectural interfaces with structural, MEP, and ICT disciplines and support commissioning and operational readiness.
Inspections and coordination
- Conduct surveillance, snagging, and final acceptance inspections; review non-conformance reports, observations, quality reports, and corrective action plans.
- Monitor punch-list closure and handover documentation; support quality dashboards and reports.
- Coordinate with contractors, architects, engineers, inspectors, commissioning teams, and clients; participate in project meetings and quality reviews.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering or a related discipline.
- At least 8–10 years of construction QA/QC experience and 3–5 years of direct experience on hyperscale or Tier III/Tier IV data centres, mission-critical facilities, or high-tech industrial projects.
- Proven inspection experience with architectural finishes, building envelope systems, waterproofing, roofing, clean-room environments, and fire-rated assemblies.
- Strong understanding of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and construction quality procedures.
- Construction supervision consultancy experience is preferred.
- ISO 9001 Internal Auditor/Lead Auditor, CQE, PMP, or equivalent certifications are preferred.
