Hands-on laboratory role supporting the safe and effective delivery of Pharmacy Technical Services.
Works across the Trust Pharmacy Quality Control service at Hammersmith and Charing Cross Hospitals.
Quality control and laboratory duties
- Perform routine and non-routine QC activities, including microbiological testing and environmental sample processing.
- Monitor the Aseptic unit, process and read environmental monitoring samples, record results and escalate issues.
- Assist with investigations into out-of-specification and out-of-trend results and communicate findings to pharmacy colleagues.
- Operate and monitor laboratory equipment; assist with calibration and temperature mapping.
- Maintain equipment and technical records, monitor laboratory temperatures, and support updates to procedures and test protocols.
Candidate requirements
- Laboratory experience is sought.
- The successful candidate should be organised, methodical, attentive to detail, and able to work independently and with a team.
- An interest in microbiology and pharmaceutical quality control, and commitment to technical development, will support success.
Standards and procedures
- Work in accordance with cGMP, cGLP, data integrity, health and safety requirements, and departmental procedures.
