The QA/QC Manager oversees quality assurance and quality control for steel structure and fabrication projects.
The role covers structural steel works, fabrication, erection, welding, inspection, and project quality management.
Responsibilities
- Develop project-specific QA/QC plans, ITPs, inspection procedures, and quality documentation.
- Supervise quality activities for steel fabrication, welding, painting, blasting, and erection.
- Review and approve material submittals, method statements, inspection procedures, and technical documents.
- Coordinate inspections and approvals with clients, consultants, third-party inspectors, and project teams.
- Ensure compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, codes, and standards.
- Monitor welding activities, WPS/PQR, welder qualifications, NDT requirements, and inspection records.
- Inspect fabrication yards and project sites; identify non-conformities and coordinate corrective actions and NCR closure.
- Maintain QA/QC records, inspection reports, test certificates, and handover documentation; lead audits and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 10–15 years of QA/QC experience, preferably in structural steel and fabrication projects.
- Strong experience in steel structures, welding, fabrication, erection, and coating works.
- Knowledge of relevant international standards and specifications and experience with ISO 9001 quality management systems.
- Strong knowledge of ITPs, WPS/PQR, NDT, NCRs, material inspection, and quality documentation.
- UAE/GCC project experience is preferred.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
Compensation
- Pay is AED 15,000–17,000 per month.
