The QA Manual Tester helps ensure the quality of mobile games, working with the QA Lead and developers.
The role tests features, identifies bugs, verifies fixes, and supports a smooth player experience.
Responsibilities
- Manually test mobile game builds on real devices for bugs, gameplay issues, and usability problems; execute test cases and plans.
- Document and track bugs with reproduction steps; retest fixes and run regression tests.
- Test live-game features, updates, events, and hotfixes; check gameplay mechanics, interfaces, progression, and in-game systems.
- Check compatibility across devices and operating system versions; communicate findings with QA, development, and production colleagues.
- Maintain testing documentation and report recurring issues.
Requirements
- Mobile game-playing experience, particularly with mid-core or strategy games.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a methodical testing approach.
- Ability to write clear, structured bug reports with reproduction steps.
- Comfort testing games on Android and iOS devices; strong written communication and ability to collaborate with a remote team.
- Proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and genuine passion for gaming.
- Previous manual game-testing or mobile game QA experience is preferred but not essential; suitable aptitude may suffice.
- Familiarity with Jira is an advantage.
Nice to have
- Experience testing live-service mobile games, including updates, events, and hotfixes.
- Experience with mobile strategy or mid-core games.
- Familiarity with Android Studio, ADB, or Xcode.
