Senior QA Engineer role for a SaaS HRMS product serving public-sector organizations.
Lead QA efforts, test strategy, scalable automation, and quality practices in an Agile environment.
Work location is remote in India.
Key responsibilities
- Lead Selenium WebDriver and Java automation testing while supporting manual workflows.
- Build and maintain reusable automation frameworks; create and run test plans, cases, and scripts.
- Identify and document defects and coordinate timely resolution with developers.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, including Jenkins or GitHub Actions, working with DevOps on deployments.
- Perform cross-browser and cross-platform testing with tools such as BrowserStack or Sauce Labs.
- Test APIs using Postman, RestAssured, or similar tools and support performance testing with tools such as JMeter.
- Promote BDD/TDD, test data management, defect reporting, and test metrics.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and keep QA practices current with emerging tools.
- Mentor junior QA engineers and support consistent project QA standards.
Required skills and qualifications
- 6+ years of software QA experience, including 3+ years of Selenium WebDriver automation using Java.
- Strong Java programming and object-oriented principles for automation scripts and frameworks.
- Hands-on test automation framework experience with TestNG, JUnit, and BDD tools such as Cucumber.
- Manual testing experience spanning exploratory, regression, functional, and integration testing.
- CI/CD tool proficiency with Jenkins, Git, and Docker.
- API testing and validation experience with Postman, RestAssured, or similar tools.
- Cloud-based or virtual test environment experience, such as BrowserStack or Sauce Labs.
- Familiarity with Agile methods and DevOps practices.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, problem solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration.
- JMeter performance testing knowledge is a plus.
