Job Description

The Purchase Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the procurement of food ingredients, beverages, equipment, and other operational supplies required for the F&B establishments.

This role involves supervising the purchasing team, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring cost-effective procurement while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance with UAE regulations.

The Purchase Supervisor also collaborates with other departments to support efficient operations and inventory management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinating and resolving issues with suppliers related to deliveries, quality, or other operational concerns
  • Enquiring about new items and obtaining quotations based on requirements from the operations team
  • Negotiating prices with suppliers based on market analysis and cost benchmarks
  • Developing reports for inventory tracking across all outlets
  • Managing and optimizing inventory levels to ensure stock availability while minimizing waste, overstock, and stockouts
  • Developing and implementing procurement strategies and policies to optimize purchasing activities, achieve cost savings, and maintain quality and delivery standards
  • Coordinating with internal departments to forecast demand and develop procurement plans accordingly
  • Monitoring and analysing market trends, supplier performance, and product quality to identify cost-saving and process improvement opportunities
  • Managing the purchase order process, ensuring accurate and timely creation, issuance, and tracking of purchase orders
  • Supporting general accounting operations, including journal entries and financial documentation

Qualifications And Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • Minimum 4–5 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role, preferably in the F&B industry
  • Strong knowledge of sourcing, negotiation, and contract management
  • Familiarity with UAE food safety regulations and import/export procedures
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and procurement management software (e.g., ERP systems)
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and negotiation skills
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
