Position Summary
The **Dishwasher** is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, utensils, tableware, and work areas.
This role plays a critical part in supporting smooth kitchen operations by ensuring all kitchen and dining equipment is cleaned, sanitized, and readily available for service.
Key Responsibilities
- Wash, sanitize, and store dishes, glassware, cutlery, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils in accordance with hygiene standards.
- Operate dishwashing machines and ensure proper handling of cleaning equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing area, kitchen floors, and waste disposal areas.
- Ensure all cleaning and sanitation procedures comply with company policies and food safety regulations.
- Assist kitchen staff with basic cleaning and support duties as required.
- Remove garbage and recycling materials and ensure waste is disposed of properly.
- Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies and report shortages to supervisors.
- Support receiving and storing deliveries when required.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient working environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is preferred but not required.
- Basic understanding of hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Strong attention to cleanliness and organization.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
