Manage P J O'Reilly's, an Irish pub, and lead its day-to-day operations and performance.
Qualifications and experience
- A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Hospitality Management or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years in a similar role at an Irish pub or luxury bar; hotel experience is ideal.
- Strong beverage knowledge, particularly beers, whiskeys, and cocktails, and familiarity with Irish pub culture.
- Leadership, people management, communication, and guest relations abilities.
- Proficiency with POS systems and inventory management software.
Operations and financial performance
- Oversee bar, floor, and service operations and coordinate work with kitchen, bar, and service teams.
- Maintain cleanliness, ambiance, and Irish pub standards; manage inventory, stock rotation, and ordering.
- Meet revenue and profitability targets through cost control and upselling.
- Analyze sales reports and budgets; increase average checks and reduce wastage.
- Promote themed nights, live entertainment, and special events.
Guest experience and team leadership
- Provide warm, exceptional service and handle guest feedback and complaints professionally.
- Maintain product quality and presentation.
- Recruit, train, motivate, schedule, and manage staff performance, attendance, and development.
- Conduct briefings and uphold service and grooming standards.
Compliance and coordination
- Ensure health, safety, hygiene, licensing, and hotel operating requirements are followed.
- Work with hotel Food & Beverage management to align pub operations with hotel objectives.
Key competencies and schedule
- The role calls for leadership, team motivation, financial acumen, cost control, creativity, organization, and problem-solving.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.
