Bartender duties
- Prepare drink orders according to specified recipes and measuring systems.
- Issue, open, and serve wine and champagne bottles.
- Set up and maintain the cleanliness and condition of the bar, bar unit, tables, and other tools.
- Prepare fresh garnishes; stock ice, glassware, and paper supplies; and transport supplies to the bar setup area.
- Wash soiled glassware and remove soiled wares from bar tops and tables to the designated area.
- Anticipate and communicate replenishment needs.
- Process all payment methods; count the bank at shift end; complete cashier reports; resolve discrepancies; handle receipts; and secure the bank.
- Secure liquor, beer, wine, coolers, cabinets, and storage areas and complete closing duties.
Qualifications and experience
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience as a bartender in food and beverage.
- Strong knowledge of mixology, beverage preparation, and presentation standards.
- Warm, approachable personality with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with POS systems, billing procedures, and cash handling.
- Ability to create memorable guest experiences while upholding brand standards.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and support smooth service during peak hours.
- Skill in maintaining bar cleanliness and stock control and adhering to hygiene and safety regulations.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Guest service and workplace standards
- Follow company, safety, and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions; and complete safety training and certifications.
- Maintain a clean, professional uniform and appearance, protect confidential information and company assets, and follow quality standards.
- Welcome and acknowledge guests, anticipate and address their service needs, and thank them with genuine appreciation.
- Communicate professionally, maintain positive working relationships, support team goals, and respond appropriately to colleagues' concerns.
Physical and safety requirements
- Read and visually verify information in different formats, including small print.
- Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or a full work shift.
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Use fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination to grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying sizes and weights.
- Move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces and over uneven, sloping, or slippery surfaces, including stairs and service ramps.
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
