Project Quantity Surveyor

This role is responsible for the quantity surveying functions across development

projects, ensuring alignment with budget, timelines, and company policies.

The

Senior Quantity Surveyor manage cost planning, review external cost consultants,

and provide strategic insights to senior leadership

1.

Review, check, and provide guidance on all matters related to Procurement and Commercial Management, both pre and post contract administration.

2.

Organize and facilitate meetings with Consultants, Project Directors/Managers, and Development Directors/Managers as necessary to carry out the quantity surveying functions within the Commercial Department.

3.

Ensure that procurement activities align with the overall Development program.

4.

Prepare Requests for Proposals/Requests for Price, gather relevant information from internal stakeholders, manage the procurement process, and review tender submissions to recommend and award contracts.

5.

Prepare cost plans at all stages of the development cycle, if handled internally.

6.

Review and critique externally prepared cost plans at all stages of the development cycle, challenging external cost consultants as necessary.

7.

Monitor project budgets, commitments, and change management processes across various projects.

8.

Oversee and coordinate all Quantity Surveying, Procurement, and Commercial Management functions performed by or on behalf of the Commercial Department, ensuring adherence to company policies, procedures, and professional standards in line with the quantity surveying profession.

9.

Keep the Line Manager and Senior Director – Commercial informed of ongoing activities, developments, and issues, and seek advice or guidance on matters impacting the project.

10.

Review and plan responses to exceptional issues within assigned areas of responsibility.

11.

Proactively collaborate with the Line Manager and Senior Director – Commercial, presenting results from assigned studies and addressing any concerns that could affect project performance.

12.

Adhere to company policies, standard operating procedures, and objectives as set by Management, ensuring the design and implementation of strategies, systems, controls, and programs to support these objectives.

13.

Ensure that project budgets are adhered to and report any concerns.

14.

Oversee the proper administration of contracts and consultancy agreements in accordance with standard contract conditions and consultancy agreements.

15.

Support and manage Quantity Surveyors in the execution of their assigned duties.
