Role overview
Leads delivery of electrical substation projects, including 132kV, 220kV, 400kV, and distribution substations.
Oversees work from project initiation and engineering coordination through procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and final handover.
Projects must meet contractual requirements, specifications, quality standards, safety regulations, client expectations, schedules, and budgets.
Project delivery
- Lead multidisciplinary teams spanning civil, electrical, mechanical, commissioning, QA/QC, HSE, planning, procurement, and subcontractors.
- Manage stakeholders including clients, consultants, utility authorities, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Plan resources, monitor schedules and costs, manage risks and contracts, report progress, and implement recovery plans.
- Resolve technical and commercial issues, coordinate disciplines, and monitor milestones and project performance.
- Manage budgets, evaluate variations and claims, optimize resources, and review project deliverables.
- Oversee procurement and timely availability of materials and equipment.
- Lead progress review meetings and monitor subcontractor performance.
- Support testing and commissioning, close punch points and NCRs, and oversee as-built documentation and project closeout reports.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Engineering (BE) is listed as the minimum qualification.
- Requires extensive experience managing high-voltage substation and EPC projects.
- Requires strong leadership, communication, negotiation, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- The listed knowledge and skills include PMP, program management, and project management.
Skills and knowledge
- Project delivery requires coordination across disciplines and effective stakeholder engagement.
- The Project Manager is expected to drive quality assurance, quality control, and HSE compliance.
- The role requires effective project governance and strategic leadership.
