Role overview

Testing and commissioning

• Plan, organize, and execute testing and commissioning for utility-scale solar projects; ensure compliance with technical standards and client specifications.
• Conduct pre-commissioning checks, functional tests, and final system integration; troubleshoot commissioning issues.
• Validate performance against design parameters, including grid synchronization and inverter testing, and maintain commissioning documentation.

Leadership and coordination

• Lead engineers and technicians; coordinate with design, procurement, and project management teams to resolve technical discrepancies.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and third-party auditors to secure commissioning test approvals.

Compliance, reporting, and handover

• Ensure adherence to safety standards, quality protocols, and IEC, IS, and MNRE guidelines; implement risk assessments and on-site safety measures.
• Prepare and present commissioning reports, performance analyses, and test results; oversee handover to the O&M team.

Qualifications and experience

• Mandatory bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
• At least 15 years of testing, commissioning, and maintenance experience in solar or renewable energy projects; hands-on utility-scale solar power plant experience.
• Proven track record managing testing and commissioning teams.
• Master’s degree in Power Systems or Renewable Energy is preferred.

Technical expertise

• Testing electrical systems, including inverters, transformers, switchgear, and SCADA systems.
• Renewable energy regulations, grid connectivity protocols, power system protection, and solar PV systems, including DC/AC wiring and string and central inverters.
• Leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, and managing teams across multiple project sites.
