SUB CONTRACTS ENGINEER

Role purpose

Planning and tendering

• Review project requirements, develop subcontracting strategies, identify suitable work packages, and coordinate with relevant teams to define scopes.
• Prepare RFQs and ITBs, manage tendering from prequalification to award recommendation, conduct technical and commercial evaluations, and prepare bid comparisons.

Award and administration

• Draft, review, and negotiate subcontract agreements; check alignment with main contract obligations and company policies.
• Coordinate approvals, facilitate subcontractor kick-off meetings, monitor performance, administer changes, review invoices, and maintain records.

Commercial and progress management

• Assess variations and commercial impacts, identify risks, manage claims and disputes, and assist with settlement proposals.
• Track deliverables, milestones, progress, subcontract costs, and budget use; coordinate work verification and support schedule recovery.

Compliance and closeout

• Ensure compliance with Saudi Aramco standards, project specifications, local regulations, company procedures, and ethics policies; participate in audits.
• Manage closeout documentation, final account settlement, warranties, guarantees, certificates, and contract archiving.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, such as Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Instrumentation, or a related discipline.
• The description lists a minimum of 5–7 years in its opening details and 5–15 years in the experience section; both specify subcontract management within EPC projects.
• Relevant experience may include Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, Pipeline, Offshore, or Industrial Construction projects.
• Saudi Aramco project experience is highly preferred; familiarity with FIDIC, EPC, and LSTK contracts is listed.
• An additional qualification in Contracts Management, Commercial Management, or Supply Chain Management is preferred.

Technical and behavioral skills

• Technical skills include subcontract management, contract drafting and negotiation, commercial evaluation, cost analysis, change orders, claims, risk mitigation, Saudi Aramco procedures, SAP, Oracle, Excel, and contract management systems.
• Behavioral competencies include negotiation, commercial acumen, stakeholder management, communication, presentation, problem-solving, and conflict resolution.
