Plant and Machinery role associated with the Renewables IC and based in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
The objective is to maintain and repair equipment to reduce downtime, ensure availability, and support maximum utilization at minimal cost.
Responsibilities
- Check equipment operating parameters before deployment, including meters, safety indicators, gauges, and battery condition.
- Plan and perform periodic maintenance based on recommended intervals and site conditions; monitor tasks for timely execution.
- Maintain sufficient spare parts and consumables to avoid equipment downtime.
- Coordinate maintenance with the P&M in-charge and Planning Engineer to minimize disruption; flag items likely to fail.
- Monitor equipment health after repairs and plan and execute repairs by priority while ensuring quality.
- Oversee external-agency repairs, diagnose defects, and ensure corrective action.
- Report suspected faulty design or defective materials to the relevant P&M contacts and headquarters.
- Carry out pre-dispatch inspections and repairs, use genuine spares, inspect equipment received from other sites, report deficiencies, and keep the repair area orderly.
Qualifications and experience
- Minimum qualification is listed as Bachelor of Technology (BTech).
- A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field is requested.
- At least 5 years of plant and machinery management experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Experience managing equipment in large-scale construction or EPC projects, especially renewables, is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of heavy machinery, fleet management, and maintenance best practices.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
