Project Controls Engineer

Role overview

Project controls and reporting

• Draft project-specific Project Controls Procedures according to contract requirements.
• Prepare internal and external project reports in required formats.
• Initiate and maintain project deliverables lists and status registers for procedures, plans, engineering, procurement, materials, and submittals.

Procurement and subcontract administration

• Assemble procurement packages with quantity take-offs, contract specifications, technical requirements, and delivery schedules.
• Maintain procurement, subcontractor, and engineering deliverables registers.
• Assist with subcontract agreements, price negotiations, administration, correspondence, measurements, payment certification, and final accounts.
• Prepare project material lists and quantities and maintain materials reconciliation.

Records, costs, variations, and claims

• Maintain project records and diaries covering daily activities, resources, productivity, events, instructions, and site conditions.
• Monitor contract scope and variations; maintain variation and claims registers and supporting records.
• Prepare variation and claim submissions and collaborate with quantity surveyors on monthly payment requests.
• Assist with budgets and current estimates, monitor variances, and help establish project cost centers and allocate costs.

Qualifications and experience

• University degree in Engineering.
• Five years of relevant construction industry experience at a similar level.
• EPC project experience with ADNOC or an equivalent client is essential.
• Knowledge of cost estimation, cost control, planning, risk management, and contractual matters.
• Awareness of engineering, procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of project management tools and basic financial concepts.
• Ability to perform under stressful situations, communicate and coordinate with project teams, and stay organized; an operational mindset.
