Role overview

Lead fabrication shop activities for structural steel, piping spools, skids, and equipment supports.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, welding procedures, and ADNOC standards.
  • Schedule and monitor fabrication work, productivity, progress, and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, QA/QC, planning, construction, subcontractors, and shop supervisors.
  • Maintain safe working practices, material control, traceability, and storage.
  • Complete inspections and testing before dispatch; support client audits and third-party inspections.
  • Control costs and resources and prepare weekly and monthly progress reports.

Experience and knowledge

  • 12–15 years of Oil & Gas or EPC fabrication experience, including at least five years in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of ASME, API, AWS, and ADNOC standards; structural steel and piping fabrication; welding, NDT, and quality control.
  • Experience with large fabrication yards and concurrent work fronts; knowledge of material management and procurement coordination.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering preferred; a Mechanical Engineering diploma with extensive experience may be considered.
  • Welding inspection certification such as CSWIP or AWS is an advantage. Relevant HSE training and ADNOC project experience are preferred.
