Project Construction Manager

Role overview

Project delivery and compliance

• Coordinate contractors, consultants, authorities, and internal stakeholders as the primary local construction lead.
• Lead projects from mobilization to handover and coordinate design, procurement, construction, and handover activities on site.
• Manage construction, technical, regulatory, cost, and schedule risks.
• Ensure compliance with UAE Building Codes, UAE Fire & Life Safety Code, applicable international standards, authority requirements, and safety standards.
• Adapt overseas technical and cost-optimization solutions to UAE regulations, local standards, market availability, and construction practices.
• Coordinate local designers and consultants to integrate approved solutions and meet local requirements.
• Manage authority submissions and approvals.

Procurement, site execution, and reporting

• Support procurement through local market research, supplier sourcing, technical evaluations, procurement strategies, and specifications.
• Coordinate suppliers and contractors to deliver long-lead items and critical materials on time, with quality and cost efficiency.
• Conduct technical briefings and method statements with contractors and site teams; supervise quality, HSE, schedule, and approved implementation.
• Report progress, cost, and risks to management and overseas teams; proactively resolve technical, quality, cost, and schedule issues.
• Capture lessons learned and site performance data to improve construction standards and delivery methods.

Contractor and interface management

• Manage interface risks across split contracts, multiple subcontractors, and work packages.
• Maintain package interface matrices, responsibility demarcation documents, sequencing plans, and a live interface risk register.
• Lead cross-trade meetings and workshops to resolve conflicts and sequencing challenges and avoid delays and claims.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8–12 years of relevant project or construction management experience in the UAE.
• Experience with local developers or EPC contractors in a client-side project manager or core project management team role.
• Strong understanding of the project lifecycle under UAE construction practices and local laws, regulations, approvals, and market practices.
• Hands-on experience with multiple-prime contracts or split-contract delivery and complex contractor interfaces.
• Construction management experience in industrial plants, logistics warehouses, distribution centers, or similar large-scale projects.
• Fluent spoken and written English; able to bridge overseas teams and local consultants, contractors, and authorities.
• Dubai Municipality registration or eligibility is preferred.

Technical capabilities

• Familiarity with UAE and regional design codes, including the UAE Fire & Life Safety Code and relevant international standards.
• Strong design coordination skills, including reconciling overseas technical standards with local codes and authority requirements.
• Cost control awareness, commercial acumen, procurement knowledge, and practical on-site implementation capability.
• Experience with project management systems for tracking, submittals, and site reporting, such as Aconex, Procore, BIM, or Primavera.
• Strong leadership, on-site management, coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills; able to work in a multicultural, fast-paced environment.
