Job Summary
JEDAN Contracting is seeking a skilled Procurement Officer to manage sourcing, purchasing, and supplier coordination for construction and fit-out projects. The role focuses on cost efficiency, quality assurance, and timely delivery in line with project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and issue purchase orders in line with company procedures
- Source, evaluate, and manage suppliers and subcontractors
- Obtain quotations (RFQs) and negotiate price, delivery, execution, and contract terms
- Prepare subcontract agreements in line with company policies and FIDIC standards
- Coordinate with internal departments to understand requirements and verify specifications
- Procure construction materials and track order status to ensure timely delivery to site/office
- Maintain procurement records (POs, invoices, delivery notes) and update systems
- Liaise with Finance for invoice processing and timely supplier payments
- Develop and maintain supplier database; monitor vendor performance (price, quality, delivery)
- Identify alternative/local suppliers to optimize cost and lead time
- Manage logistics coordination with transporters and clearing agents
- Handle material rejections and coordinate returns with suppliers
- Support vendor prequalification and maintain approved vendor list
- Monitor market trends, pricing, and supply risks
- Prepare procurement reports for management
- Resolve supplier issues and ensure compliance with company policies and quality standards
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Engineering, or related field
- 3–5 years of procurement experience in construction/contracting
- Strong knowledge of building materials and procurement processes
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office (Excel)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in contracting and fit-out projects
- Familiarity with local and international suppliers
- Knowledge of contract management and logistics
- CIPS or similar certification is a plus
