Procurement Officer

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Source and procure construction materials, tools, equipment, and project supplies.
• Obtain and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors; negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
• Prepare purchase orders and coordinate timely deliveries to construction sites.
• Coordinate with site engineers, project managers, and storekeepers on material requirements.
• Maintain supplier, vendor, and subcontractor databases; follow up on orders, deliveries, and material availability.
• Verify material specifications and compliance with project requirements; maintain procurement records, invoices, and delivery notes.
• Monitor market prices, identify cost-effective purchasing opportunities, and coordinate supplier invoices and payments with accounts.
• Ensure procurement complies with company policies and project deadlines.

Requirements

• At least two years of procurement experience in the construction industry and UAE construction industry experience are required.
• Knowledge of cement, steel, concrete, blocks, finishing materials, and MEP materials.
• Experience in supplier sourcing, quotation comparison, and price negotiation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office; good communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
• A diploma or bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
• Immediate availability is preferred.

Work arrangement

• Full-time role; work location is in person in the United Arab Emirates.
