Procurement Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications, BOQs, material schedules, and approved designs to identify procurement needs.
• Prepare procurement schedules aligned with project timelines and site requirements.
• Source and evaluate suppliers, manufacturers, subcontractors, and specialist vendors for fit-out works.
• Obtain and compare quotations, prepare commercial comparisons, and negotiate prices and payment terms.
• Issue RFQs, purchase orders, subcontract agreements, and other procurement documents.
• Ensure purchases comply with approved samples, specifications, brands, and project requirements.
• Coordinate approvals and technical requirements with consultants, designers, engineers, quantity surveyors, and site teams.
• Follow up on submittals, samples, approvals, manufacturing, delivery, and installation schedules; monitor long-lead items to prevent delays.
• Coordinate logistics, delivery schedules, storage, and material inspections.
• Evaluate supplier performance on cost, quality, delivery, and compliance.
• Maintain procurement trackers, supplier databases, purchase records, and cost reports; identify savings and support cost analysis, variations, and financial reporting.
• Resolve supplier and subcontractor issues and ensure compliance with company policies, project contracts, HSE, and quality requirements.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction, Procurement, or a related field.
• Typically 3–7 years of procurement experience; interior fit-out or construction experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of fit-out materials, suppliers, subcontractors, and construction processes.
• Experience preparing RFQs, quotation comparisons, purchase orders, and procurement reports.
• Strong negotiation and vendor-management skills.
• Ability to read drawings, specifications, BOQs, and material schedules.
• Good knowledge of MS Excel and procurement/ERP systems.
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills; ability to manage multiple packages and meet deadlines.

Compensation

• Pay is AED 9,000–11,000 per month.
