Role overview

Research leadership and technical work

• Define NLP and LLM research strategy, develop technical roadmaps, benchmark state of the art, and identify opportunities to differentiate the organization.
• Conduct original research across AI, NLP, LLMs, generative AI, deep learning, and multimodal systems; develop and improve large-scale model algorithms.
• Advance model architecture, optimization, training efficiency, and deployment; translate research into scalable prototypes and field-deployable technologies.

Teamwork, collaboration, and governance

• Lead and mentor research, science, and engineering teams; oversee projects and guide prototype development with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with research centres, industry partners, academic institutions, and end-user communities; present findings and lead proposals for research programs.
• Support ethical and responsible AI, AI safety, shared infrastructure, and reusable research components.

Required qualifications and skills

• 12+ years of experience in AI research and development.
• Deep expertise in NLP, LLMs, and generative AI; strong knowledge of modern AI architectures, training paradigms, and evaluation methodologies.
• Proficiency in Python and extensive experience with at least one major ML framework, such as PyTorch, JAX, or equivalent.
• A PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, or a related field is strongly preferred.

Nice to have

• Patents; publications in leading conferences or journals such as ICML, NeurIPS, ICLR, or AAAI; and machine-learning competition experience such as Kaggle are nice-to-haves.
