Full-time postdoctoral research position at Khalifa University.
The project focuses on computational modeling of reinforced thermoplastic pipes and composite pipe systems.
Qualifications and experience
- Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Strong foundation in continuum mechanics, computational solid mechanics, finite element modeling, and constitutive modeling, preferably for composite and multilayered materials.
- Hands-on Abaqus experience with nonlinear analysis, user subroutines, and large deformation problems.
- Knowledge of composite mechanics, including anisotropy, micromechanics modeling, and multi-scale modeling concepts.
- Strong publication record demonstrating expertise and independence in relevant areas.
- Machine learning experience for material modeling or structural assessment is a plus, but is not essential for the main project scope.
