Pipeline Engineer

Role overview

Project team responsibilities

• Prepare and discuss project execution strategies and schedules with the project team and department head.
• Lead pipeline design activities from proposal and feasibility stages through conceptual and detailed engineering.
• Coordinate internal engineers, specialists, and specialized engineering subcontractors.
• Define subcontractor scopes of work and manage technical interfaces for large work scopes.
• Ensure compliance with contract requirements, applicable codes, good engineering practice, and company procedures.
• Meet project schedule and man-hour constraints.
• Participate in estimating materials and construction costs.
• Support proposal, project management, project control, procurement, subcontracting, construction, and commissioning stakeholders.

Department responsibilities

• Provide feedback on procedures, work instructions, and standards to improve their effectiveness.
• Contribute to competency documents and lessons learned from project experience.
• Develop improvements in work methodologies and design tools.
• Support professional growth and training in pipeline design and construction.

Knowledge and qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience in EPC projects within the oil, gas, and petrochemical industry.

Skills and abilities

• Strong understanding of engineering principles, project management methodologies, and technical documentation.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Contract and compensation
