Permanent part-time Pharmacist Assistant position supporting pharmacists with dispensary and pharmacy services.
Works under direction of the pharmacist on duty and Pharmacy Manager, following company standards and Ontario College of Pharmacists standards of practice.
Compensation
- Starting hourly wage is $16.60, with a potentially higher offer based on relevant knowledge, skills, education, and experience, within the collective agreement wage scale.
- Position is part of a unionized bargaining unit.
Schedule
- Shifts include days, evenings, and weekends.
Responsibilities
- Perform dispensing-related technical acts and receive refill requests and verbal prescriptions in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Maintain patient profiles and records; contact prescribers; handle phones, voicemail, and email; and assist with dispensary paperwork.
- Support customers on the sales floor and at the cash register.
- Receive and verify orders, store products appropriately, and complete inventory, invoice, credit, and shrink-log tasks.
- Maintain store conditions and follow company, government, health, and food safety requirements.
Qualifications
- Completion of a Pharmacy Assistant program and at least 2 years of retail pharmacy experience.
- Proficiency with current PC systems, Microsoft Office, and pharmacy software such as Kroll.
- Requires communication, organization, time management, customer service, interpersonal skills, receptiveness to feedback, and initiative.
Workplace
- Position is based at the Food Basics pharmacy at 1070-A Major MacKenzie Drive East, Richmond Hill.
