Permanent part-time Pharmacist Assistant position at Food Basics, supporting pharmacists with dispensary and pharmacy services.
The role receives direction from the pharmacist on duty and Pharmacy Manager and follows company and Ontario College of Pharmacists standards.
Duties
- Perform dispensing tasks and handle refill requests and verbal prescriptions in accordance with laws and regulations.
- Maintain patient profiles and records; contact prescribers; answer calls and check IVR voicemail.
- Assist customers on the sales floor and at the cash register; check and respond to emails.
- Receive orders, verify products and invoices, and store received items appropriately.
- Perform inventory work, reconcile invoices and credits, maintain shrink logs, and use wholesaler websites.
- Assist with dispensary paperwork and maintain store cleanliness and standards.
- Follow company procedures and applicable government, health and safety, and food safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Pharmacy Assistant program education.
- At least two years of retail pharmacy experience.
- Proficiency with current PC systems, Microsoft Office, and pharmacy software such as Kroll.
- Interpersonal, communication, organization, time-management, and customer service skills.
- Receptive to feedback and able to complete tasks independently.
Location and schedule
- Food Basics location at 1070-A Major MacKenzie Drive East, Richmond Hill.
- Shifts include days, evenings, and weekends.
Pay and employment
- Permanent part-time position.
- Starting hourly wage is $16.60–$16.70, with the applicable collective agreement wage scale determining the offered rate.
