Role overview

Responsibilities

• Coordinate pastry and dessert preparation and presentation in line with culinary standards.
• Help achieve food-cost targets and prepare a range of pastries and desserts using traditional and modern recipes.
• Create new offerings, including non-gluten items, and refresh restaurant menus.
• Monitor ingredient stocks, order within budget, maintain par stocks, and rotate products.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the pastry section.
• Prepare duty rotas, ensure adequate coverage, and assist with vacation planning and overtime control.
• Support dish demonstrations and keep records of them.
• Manage the Pastry Department in the Head Chef's absence.
• Support kitchen operations, food quality, cost control, and outlet financial performance.

Candidate requirements

• At least 2 years' experience in the same role at a luxury hotel or reputable high-end restaurant.
• Internationally recognized professional certification.
• Good working level of written and spoken English.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, flexibility, team-management skills, and problem-solving abilities.
• Integrity, confidentiality, self-motivation, and commitment to continuous improvement.
• Ability to work long shifts and stand for extended periods.
