Job Description
The hotel is seeking a creative and experienced Pastry Chef to lead its pastry kitchen.
The role prepares pastries, cakes, bread, and desserts while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
The Pastry Chef leads and mentors pastry staff and contributes to dessert offerings.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, bake, and present pastries, desserts, cakes, cookies, tarts, breads, and other baked goods.
- Oversee daily pastry-kitchen operations for efficient production and timely service.
- Develop and design new dessert menus and seasonal offerings.
- Supervise and mentor pastry staff and provide training and guidance.
- Ensure baked goods meet company quality and safety standards.
- Monitor inventory and order ingredients and supplies while controlling cost and waste.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to maintain smooth service and consistent product quality.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen according to health and safety guidelines.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new techniques, and ingredients.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef, Baker, or in a similar culinary role is required.
- A culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques and pastry production is required.
- Experience creating innovative desserts and baked goods is required.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills are required.
- The candidate must work effectively in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
- A creative approach to dessert design, strong attention to detail, and commitment to quality are required.
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays, is required.
