1. Baking & Pastry Production
- Prepare and bake a wide range of pastries, desserts, cakes, bread, and other baked goods.
- Develop new and innovative recipes while maintaining traditional favorites.
- Ensure consistent taste, texture, and presentation of all products.
- Follow standard recipes and measure ingredients accurately.
2. Kitchen Management & Organization
- Oversee pastry kitchen operations, including workflow and production schedules.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and hygienic workspace in compliance with food safety standards.
- Monitor inventory levels and manage ingredient stock to prevent shortages or waste.
- Ensure proper storage and labeling of ingredients to maintain freshness.
3. Quality Control & Food Safety
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper handling of food and hygiene practices.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure all pastries and baked goods meet high standards.
- Adjust recipes and techniques based on feedback and quality assessments.
4. Creativity & Menu Development
- Innovate and develop new pastry and dessert recipes based on trends and customer preferences.
- Collaborate with chefs and management to design seasonal or themed dessert menus.
- Experiment with flavors, textures, and presentation techniques to enhance offerings.
5. Team Leadership & Training
- Supervise and train junior pastry chefs, bakers, and kitchen staff.
- Assign tasks, oversee performance, and ensure staff follow proper techniques.
- Provide guidance on pastry techniques, presentation, and kitchen best practices.
6. Cost Control & Budgeting
- Monitor ingredient costs and suggest cost-effective alternatives when necessary.
- Minimize food waste by optimizing portion sizes and ingredient usage.
- Assist in pricing desserts and pastries while ensuring profitability.
7. Customer Service & Special Orders
- Collaborate with customers on custom orders, such as wedding cakes and special event desserts.
- Ensure timely preparation and delivery of special requests.
- Address customer feedback and continuously improve pastry offerings.
Requirements
✔ Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or Baker.
✔ Knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and food safety standards.
✔ Creativity in dessert presentation and recipe development.
✔ Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
✔ Strong organizational and time-management skills.
