Operations Engineer

Job purpose

Operations and maintenance

• Inspect assigned sites, check hard and specialist services, and ensure required documents are in place.
• Track preventive and reactive maintenance and coordinate on-site service providers to keep work on schedule.
• Monitor specialist systems and service delivery against SLAs and KPIs.
• Plan, schedule, and review daily operations and maintenance for building MEP systems; monitor system and equipment performance.
• Investigate complaints and disturbances, resolve problems, and liaise with facilities and landlord management, tenants, and residents.
• Follow approved building rules and community guidelines and maintain departmental and site documentation.

Compliance, reporting, and stakeholder support

• Ensure safe operations in line with QHSE guidance and fulfill legal, statutory, and authority requirements.
• Assist the Facilities Manager with project implementation and support purchasing of property equipment and requirements.
• Submit inspection, KPI, maintenance, operational, incident, accident, technical, and other administrative reports; maintain service-provider KPIs and pending-issue trackers.
• Monitor and optimize energy consumption, identify energy-saving opportunities, and implement efficiency measures.
• Manage client, stakeholder, vendor, and regulatory communications and relationships within the area of responsibility.
• Prepare quotations and estimates with technicians, follow contractual deliverables and timelines, identify team training needs, and maintain training schedules.
• Prepare risk assessments, method statements, and fire assessment plans with HSE; resolve facility system and equipment issues and document repair reports.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 6–8 years of technical maintenance experience, with facilities management exposure, especially in electrical and mechanical engineering.
• At least 3 years of the overall experience must be in the UAE; UAE experience is mandatory.
• Knowledge of facilities management statutory compliance and a CAFM system.
• Proven MEP asset management experience and experience managing supervisors, technicians, and specialist subcontractors.
• Hands-on technical knowledge of MEP assets is mandatory.
• Experience in airports, museums, or critical facilities is preferred.
• FMP from IFMA, IOSH, or similar professional certifications are preferred.
• Willingness to be based in Dubai or Abu Dhabi.
